This year’s programme marks two significant milestones: the 20th anniversary of the Huntley Archives and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Bogle-L’Ouverture Bookshop. We extend our congratulations to our collaborating partners—the British Library and Oxford University—on the delivery of their parallel sister event, What is a Black Archive? Reparation and Transformation, held at the British Library also on 29 November. We look forward to synthesising the insights, reflections and outcomes from both programmes at a collective convening in spring 2026, when The London Archives will host Black Archives Day, bringing together practitioners, researchers and community partners to advance shared strategies for the future of Black archival practice.
